In today’s world, efficiency and sustainability in production are of utmost importance. Our new test box for the INT280 models addresses these very points. Designed to quickly and reliably test the functionality of the switching relays in our INT280 models, the test box helps reduce unnecessary shipping costs and CO2 emissions.
Purpose and Applications
The primary function of the test box is to verify whether the internal switching relays of the INT280 models are working correctly. This testing is crucial in determining whether a relay is defective before it is shipped unnecessarily—an important step in cost savings and reducing our ecological footprint.
The test box is mainly used at our international sites but also sees application at our main location in Forchtenberg. Thanks to its mobile and user-friendly design, even non-experts can perform the testing of these models.
Functionality and Features
Our test box is designed to test the switching relays of all three INT280 models with their different voltage requirements. The process is straightforward: a current is passed through the relay, and the switching status is indicated by two LEDs. This allows users to immediately see whether the relay is functioning correctly.
A key advantage of the test box is its mobility and ease of use. This enables users to deploy the box flexibly across various locations, allowing for quick and simple testing of relays.
Development Process and Challenges
The development of the test box was part of a final project by a cooperative student and involved several stages. Initially, circuit diagrams were designed, followed by the creation of the circuits, and finally, everything was assembled in a control cabinet. One of the main challenges was casting an adapter for the glass cone, which is critical for the testing process.
Application and Future Prospects
The test box is primarily used for returns to determine whether a fault is repairable or irreparable. The INT280 models are connected to the test box, which is then linked to a power source and a laptop. Using our INTspector app, the internal processes of the INT280 can be monitored, while the LEDs display the switching status.
Although the test box is still relatively new, additional units are already in production to be deployed at all our global locations. This will not only further improve the efficiency of relay testing but also continue to help reduce shipping costs and CO2 emissions.
We look forward to integrating the test box into regular operations in the coming months and are eager to receive feedback from our international teams.
