The innovative PTC+ and AMS sensor combinations from KRIWAN combine reliable switch-off mechanisms with continuous temperature monitoring and thus enable comprehensive protection of electrical machines. The PTC+ sensors combine the proven safety of PTC shutdown with precise temperature measurement using NTC or Pt100/Pt1000 elements - ideal for recognising overheating in good time and taking targeted measures before a shutdown is required.
AMS sensors, in conjunction with KRIWAN diagnostic devices, offer even earlier detection of critical temperature rises. Thanks to a special adaptation of the characteristic curve, AMS sensors can react more quickly to rapid temperature changes and prevent dangerous overheating.
Both sensor combinations are available in various designs and are fully compatible with KRIWAN protection and diagnostic devices - the ideal choice for proactive temperature management and a longer service life for your machines.
The PTC+ sensors developed by KRIWAN have a clear advantage over conventionally used PTC / NTC / PT100 / PT1000 sensors: The aim is to combine safe shutdown (PTC) and continuous temperature detection (NTC / PT100/1000) in one sensor. This means that overheating of the motor can be safely and effectively prevented and the temperature can be measured at the same time using suitable evaluation electronics. This makes it possible, for example, to initiate countermeasures in good time to prevent the system from shutting down. PTC+ sensors are available in the same designs as PTC sensors: with shrink tubing insulation for winding installation, in sleeves or screw-in housings. PTC+ sensors are compatible with KRIWAN protection and diagnostic devices and can be used instead of conventional sensors.

Reliable protection against thermal overload and overheating
AMS sensors in combination with a KRIWAN diagnostic device make it possible to detect a dangerous temperature rise in the electrical machine much earlier than previous PTC temperature sensors in accordance with the DIN VDE V 0898-1-401 standard (formerly DIN 44081 and DIN 44082).
Sharp temperature rises are caused, for example, by the rotor blocking and lead to high temperature overruns in the application, which can be significantly reduced by using AMS sensors with KRIWAN diagnostic devices.
The AMS sensor can be interconnected with another AMS sensor to ensure full functionality. The AMS sensor fulfils the DIN VDE V 0898-1-401 standard (according to the characteristic curve) with regard to the temperature specifications for NAT, NAT +5k and NAT +15k. The characteristic curve in front of the NAT has been deliberately changed to enable significantly earlier diagnosis with connected KRIWAN diagnostic devices, which is not possible with today's PTC sensors according to the DIN VDE V 0898-1-401 standard.
