Electronics technician for devices and systems (GABI):
GABI is the acronym for Gemeinsame Ausbildungsinitiative (Joint Training Initiative).
This training scheme is a joint project of the six companies KRIWAN, KRIWAN Testzentrum, Bürkert, R. Stahl, Stahl Cranesystems, and Rosenberg. In the first year, the six companies' trainees in devices and systems rotate as a group through four of the six firms to gain a sense of familiarity with them.
Duration of training:
- 3½ years (possibility of shortening training when achieving excellent standards)
Activities:
- Electrical engineering basics
- Manufacture of mechanical and electromechanic components and assemblies
- Assembly, wiring and connecting of electrical and electronic assemblies and devices
- Electrical measurements and testing
- Setting and calibration of functional features in electrical components, assemblies and devices
- Functional and safety inspection and testing
- Error localisation, troubleshooting of assemblies and devices, performing and documenting setting and adjusting work on components, assemblies and devices
Prerequisites:
Good technical-school leaving certificate
Later opportunities at KRIWAN:
After completing occupational training, you may be employed as an electronics technician for devices and systems, for instance in the sectors of device manufacture, testing and inspection, or repairs, or in the experimental and laboratory division.
