For measuring lighting intensity with a measuring range near the CIE standard (characteristic of the human eye). With its built-in measurement transducer (DC 0...10V standard signal), it is universally suitable, e.g., for controlling indoor lighting control systems, for use as an outdoor twilight sensor in building management systems, or for use in weather stations and greenhouses.
The twilight sensor consists of a photo diode installed in a weather-proof metal housing. In order to ensure a large light yield, the photo diode is located under a funnel-shaped cover with a dispersion glass filter. The output voltage (DC 0 ... 10 V) of the twilight sensor increases proportional with the light exposure. These values can either be measured directly or further processed by means of limit value switching relays, for example.
